Proposed 4K Program for Next Fall Still Being Investigated
The school board adopted a 4K pilot on January 11 to serve 160 students (about 50% of community 4-year-olds) in 2010-11 and 240 students (about 75%) in 2011-12. Shortly after this board vote, the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) informed officials that districts may no longer phase-in a 4K program if the students are to be counted for state aid purposes.
