Bay Lane Middle School

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Every student learning, growing, succeeding.

Bay Lane Middle School is a school that is unique to Southeastern Wisconsin. Under the auspices of the Muskego - Norway School District, Bay Lane provides learning to "all who enter here." Bay Lane clinicians believe in guiding the 21st Millennial Century learner in a manner that is both meaningful and memorable.

In order to do this, instruction is presented and taught that is both engaging in process and content. The basics are taught to provide a solid content foundation for all students to build their knowledge and critical thinking skills. Process is taught to provide students that "stickiness factor" or learning that will live on with them in their high school and post K-12 experiences. An example of the "stickiness factor" is real-world research on Colonial America with field studies to Virginia.

Bay Lane houses teams of teachers separated by grade level.  Our students are configured in self-contained classrooms or two to five person teams.

Furthermore, Bay Lane educators realize the importance of solid relationships for this age group and work diligently to provide a caring adult for every student. Time is set aside for students and teachers to build these important relationships. The purpose behind this philosophy and practice is to promote healthy relationships and guide students in their ability to resolve conflicts.

Here is what some students have to say about their experiences at Bay Lane Middle:

- "Bay Lane is an amazing school. I am going into my fourth year here and I have realized that Bay Lane has great students, fun classes, and awesome staff!" ~ Katie

- "Students and teachers communicate well...students can talk with teachers, it's more than just learning, teachers understand it is more than teaching but believing in and connecting with kids too." ~ Taylor

- "...we are a respectful and responsible community...everyone is welcome...staff are positive. New students are welcomed." ~Kelsey
